Neurorestoration: Gene Therapy and
Stem Cell Transplants

The Laboratory of Nicholas Boulis is actively working to develop practical therapies for Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (Lou Gehrig's Disease). The laboratory has ongoing collaborations with Sangamo Biosciences and Ceregene Inc, to explore potential gene therapy approaches to the disorder. Dr. Boulis' team is working with scientists at the University of Wisconsin to develop feasible strategies for the transplant of neural progenitor cells into the spinal cord as another approach to ALS.
