       About our Department
The Department of Neurological Surgery at Emory University School of Medicine ranks among the nation's leading centers for neurosurgical patient care, teaching and research.

Emory Neurosurgery offers a comprehensive range of neurosurgical services for people of all ages, from newborn to the elderly. Treatment encompasses disorders of the nervous system, brain, meninges, skull and blood supply, including: the extracranial carotid and vertebral arteries; disorders of the pituitary gland; disorders of the spinal cord, meninges and vertebral column, including those which may require treatment by spinal fusion or instrumentation; and disorders of the cranial, spinal and peripheral nerves. Cerebrovascular patients are treated at the Emory MBNA Stroke Center, which is staffed by specially trained neurosurgeons and other highly skilled Emory physicians. Our neurological surgery specialists are armed with the finest technological resources to care for patients with disorders of the neurological system.

As a component of a nationally recognized academic medical center, we are able to offer the most sophisticated techniques and procedures available. While all of our medical staff are trained in multiple aspect of general neurosurgery, each neurosurgeon also has a special area of interest, expertise, and training. Working as a team, Emory's neurosurgeons offer the very best of currently available neurosurgery for common problems of the brain, spine, and nerves. We offer our patients individualized care, 24 hours a day, every day of the year.
